Am I the only person in the world who absolutely does not get Shark Week in the very, very least?

Didn't get it as a kid, either. In fact, I think I hated in more as a kid; I'm just indifferent now.

No, I hate shark week, if I'm honest. I just don't care about sharks. The occasional program is fine but dedicating most every show to it for a whole week gets to the point that irritates me.

I don't get it, either. I think (but I may be wrong) that they didn't do it up here on Canada's Discovery Channel for some time after it was already a "thing" in the states. So, since it was already a "thing" before I ever knew about it, it makes even less sense.
I think that the most entertaining thing related to shark week was the one Dos Equis ad where "Sharks have a week dedicated to him".

I think sharks are interesting and have very cool hydrodynamic properties. Studying how they do what they do is cool. What I don't get is all the shark attack stuff. Saws attack, ladders attack, hot dogs attack and all probably kill more people than sharks. Doesn't mean I want to see a special on how they attack.
